The NSF launches programs that aim to create opportunities everywhere by seizing upon the innovation potential that exist across the entire United States. In addition to the new Engines program and Explorer, the NSF announced its first new directorate in over 30 years. The NSF established the Directorate for Technology, Innovation and Partnerships (“TIP”) officially on March 16, 2022. This was the first time in 32 years that the NSF stood up a new directorate.
The NSF plays a crucial role in shaping national science policy, providing recommendations to policymakers and advocating for the importance of scientific research in addressing societal needs and challenges.
