Rajeev Dolas

Chief Technology Officer, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA

Rajeev Dolas serves as Chief Technology Officer for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). As CTO, Mr. Dolas provides leadership and oversight for NHTSA’s information technology systems and services that provide essential support for NHTSA’s live-saving mission and meet the needs of the American public. These systems include the VIN Lookup Tool, where consumers can learn about safety recalls for their vehicles; the Artemis database where consumers can notify NHTSA about vehicle safety concerns; and the National Driver Register used for licensing purposes by DMVs nationwide. Mr. Dolas leads the development, implementation and security of these systems while also overseeing information resource management strategies, budgets, plans, standards and policies, enterprise architecture, information assurance, and records management.

Mr. Dolas joins NHTSA with more than 32 years of federal and private sector experience in information technology. Most recently, he served at the U.S. Patent and Trade Office, where he oversaw IT strategies, governance, polices, DevSecOps, software quality assurance, and cybersecurity. Prior to his service in the public sector, Mr. Dolas worked in IT services in the private sector, beginning his career at Bell Labs. He also spent more than a decade as an independent consultant, providing technology services to top Wall Street financial firms.

Mr. Dolas received a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from BES College in India, and a master of science in computer and information sciences from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
