Tony Boese is a PMF serving as Interagency Programs Manager and Ethics Officer for the National Artificial Intelligence Institute (NAII), and currently on rotation to NASA. For NAII, Tony runs two flagship programs – the All Services Personnel and Institution Readiness Engine (ASPIRE) workforce education and development mission and the Precision Brain Health Pilots – each of which involves networks of agencies, universities, and others working together under NAII leadership towards high-value but challenging goals. Before government, he worked two careers for a decade each, first restaurants up to multi-site management and being a sommelier, and then academia up to being faculty at the Virginia Military Institute researching international law, environmental policy, and bioethics, and teaching ethics, comparative religions, and debate. Tony has two bachelors, three masters, and two graduate certificates, but is prouder to say he is a Chicagoan. He remains passionate about teaching and mentoring students of any sort both former and future, so reach out at any time.
