About the US Coast Guard 2003 Cyber Protection Team (CPT):
The 2003 Cyber Protection Team (CPT) was established August 1, 2023 at Coast Guard Island as the third CPT command held by Coast Guard Cyber Command (CGCYBER). 2003 CPT is the first CPT geographically detached unit from CGCYBER and will receive full operational capability certification by United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) in Spring 2024.
Featured Guest at the Nov. 8, 2023 event is Lt. Cmdr Kenneth Miltenberger, 2003 CPT’s commanding officer. He was previously the chief of the CGCYBER Cyber Operational Assessments Branch, during which he formed the Coast Guard’s Cyber Red Team, a highly skilled group conducting cyber threat emulations on Coast Guard networks to identify potential weaknesses and assess the effectiveness of network defenses.

The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is a United States Department of Defense (DoD) organization founded to help the U.S. military make faster use of emerging commercial technologies. Launched in 2015, the organization has been called “the Pentagon’s Innovation Experiment”.
